Good morning, friends--

Please join me for P/H/A/O/N IV: Mass Spring, next Saturday, January 23rd featuring a solo presentation by artist Hannah Walsh. The exhibition will center on a live piece involving an undulating blanket of fresh flowers and will also include a series of new photographs depicting underwater animals shot in midair. The work continues Walsh's enduring interest in embodiment and human relationships to nature colored by anthropomorphism, reverence, and disgust.

The exhibition is on view for one night only.

Located in an un-renovated warehouse in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and overlooking the Red Hook Channel and Gowanus Flats, P/H/A/O/N is a bi-monthly series for ephemeral sculpture and transient performance. P/H/A/O/N invites writers, musicians, filmmakers, thinkers, dancers, makers, and hierophants to develop excursive performances, treatises, and things that briefly live just beyond the complex panorama of New York City. Location is the medium. Events occur for one evening, in a particular room perched amidst a derelict brownfield on a dimly glittering harbor: its contaminated shoals; gray gowns of light chop; ferries, tugs, barges born upriver and fading away over the broken horizon.
