Over the course of the 7 min video, a camera is slowly destroyed by a snowstorm when left on the beach at Salvo, North Carolina– a location that earned its name by its history of Civil War bombardment exercises. At the last second of the film, a glitch in the mini DV tape reveals the footage being recorded over: a shot of my late grandfather with his trumpet.
